In 2010, after ten years in corporate optometry Dr. Kendra Mahaffey started  a private practice in Concord, Ohio. She has thrived in this environment allowing a hands on approach to all areas of the practice. She sees patients of all ages including infants and toddlers, and is proud to have one of the best selections of children’s eyewear in Lake county.

While the office is a general optometry practice, Dr. Mahaffey has established herself as skilled binocular vision optometrist, receiving referrals for second opinions from other area doctors.  She co-manages both cataract and LASIK surgeries with local ophthalmologists. 

In addition to the focus on pediatrics she is expanding her dry eye clinic.  Due to high deductible plans and prior authorizations restricting access for patients to treatments, in August of 2023 she added Lumenis to the practice. The first IPL treatment to achieve FDA approval for dry eye. This exciting new device will provide options for patients other than drops. It can also be used to treat chalazion and rosacea.
